A summary of major events prophesied to take place after the Rapture of the church, through the Great Tribulation period and beyond into eternity.

Given that this is a summary of events rather than a full blown commentary, it is important we point out that space limits the amount of commentary we can engage in along the way. Called to be a watchman, sounding a trumpet to God's End Times prophetic truth

for salvation sake

......the word of the Lord
came to me, saying, "Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them: 'When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head.
He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand.” (Eze 33:1-6)

God makes it crystal clear here, who He holds responsible should anyone fail to heed the watchman's warning....so now that we are being faithful to the call to sound the warning trumpet: it's up to others, like yourself, to respond....and with the help of God's Holy Spirit and the love that resides in His heart, we trust your response will result in you being saved from the pain of death, by grace, through faith in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible teaches that the world is heading inexorably, not as the majority of the world's religious leaders would have you believe (toward peace and unity), but toward a final cataclysmic war, generally referred to as the “Battle of Armageddon. Along the way of course, particularly after the Rapture of the church takes place, things are set to deteriorate at a much faster rate, as God's wrath begins to be poured out in judgement, for the final time, on a fallen, rebellious world. As the world plunges deeper and deeper into chaos and corruption on the back of untamed sin, crime will escalate, wars will increase, and the world's economies will collapse; and unprecedented natural disasters: earthquakes, fire, flood, famine and disease are all foretold to accompany God's end of days judgments, by some Old Testiment prophets, notably Daniel, Ezekiel, Jeremiah Hosea, Joel and Zechariah; in addition, some references in the New testiment are to be found in Matthew, Romans, 1&2 Corinthians, 1&2 Thessalonians, 1 Peter and of course, Revelation.

The book of Revelation”among many other things, characterizes the evil global political system set up under the final Antichrist  (the Beast), empowered by Satan as the most powerful, and destructive dictatorship in human history, and the part played by his false prophet and his mark of the beast. It also points briefly, but indirectly to the Rapture of the Church (3:10; 4:1). It describes the seven year tribulation period, including the second three and one half years of Great Tribulation; the second advent of Christ; the climactic “End of Days” battle (Armageddon) which results in the Lord Jesus Christ defeating Satan's Antichrist and his huge army drawn from the nations of the world; the beast and the false prophet are captured and cast alive into the lake of fire, burning with brimstone; Satan is chain bound and sealed up in the bottomless pit for 1000 years;  the millennial earthly kingdom of Christ; the final “Great white throne” judgment of the unregenerate; the final state of all the wicked in the lake of fire (including Satan, Antichrist and the false prophet) and the redeemed in the new heaven and new earth. But most unsurprising, the book of Revelation, exposes the deep depravity in the heart of man. For despite experiencing the devastating outpouring of God's wrath and judgment on a sinful world, people will nevertheless harden their hearts and continue to rebel against the creator, rather than repent. Amazingly so when you consider the scale of the horror yet to unfold. But as only God can, He at once, provides us with hope. A book with a happy ending, as sin and sorrow are forever banished, and peace, which has escaped man for so long is finally established, for all believers: those whose names appear in the Lamb's book of life. The book of revelation is therefore a book of unprecedented drama, terror, pathos and hope. Hardly a book one could refer to as uninteresting or boring, like some choose to.

Behold, Christ is coming for His Bride (The catching away "Rapture"of the church will usher in the Tribulation period)

Alhough the bible is unclear on this point, we believe the very next major event due on God's prophetic calendar will likely be the Gog/Magog war in the middle east(Eze 38, 39) , but as we also believe this will likely occur just prior to the Rapture of the church, we chose not to include commentary here.

Please take advantage of some excellent teaching on the "mystery" of the Church Rapture by Pastor Charles LAWSON in the adjacent video:

Rapture of the church. (All the faithful “born again” believers also referred to variously as “saints”, “bride of Christ”or body of Christ). In this event Christ returns to remove His church from the earth, but it will only be the saints who will hear and see Him. This is not His second advent. (which is determind to occur at the end of the Great Tribulation)  He does not come to the earth, but meets His bride in the air. The only evidence the world will have that the Rapture has taken place, will be the sudden, miraculous disappearance of millions of people, including we believe all babies and young children from the face of the earth.(Although the bible is silent on this issue, it is clear from scripture that God holds a special place in His heart for children, so it is our belief God could not be so unjust, to condemn these little ones to suffer His wath because of the unbelief of their parents. (PARENTS BE WARNED)
Even if the civil authorities across the globe, suspect the truth surrounding this event, they won't initially be able to
bring themselves to admit it or even discuss it, on political grounds. Rest assured that if you find yourself left behind, you will hear a whole host of lies and excuses proclaimed by public officials to explain the sudden disappearence (such as alien invasion etc) of so many people. But hopefully you will know and remember the truth from here at Beyond-Armageddon, as to what you must/must not do.

Have no fear. This is all part of God's plan of redemption, as prophesied by The Lord and His servant Paul. (see below)

In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (Jn 14: 2-3)

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. (1 Thes 4: 15-17)

For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. (Matt 24: 38-41)

Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed-- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on in-corruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. (1 Cor 15: 51-52)

Your possible timeline: (Depending where you are on God's calender as you read this)

Whether you are here because you have a specific interest in the subject, or simply curious, you will likely fit into one of these five categories

  1. The Rapture of the church is yet future. You may or may not have familiarized yourself with all the material contained herein, but either way,  you remain undecided whether or not to accept God's offer of Salvation, or
  2. The Rapture is yet future, and because you are born again, you are excitedly waiting in anticipation for the Lord's return, or

  3. The Rapture is either yet future or is past & you hold to Atheistic or Agnostic beliefs, but you are curious to find out what we have to offer, or

  4. The Rapture is either yet future or is past & you're a lukewarm nominal Christian. You either still have time to get right with God, or you are stranded, left behind, or

  5. The Rapture is past, and you've been left behind due to your unbelief, or your choice to reject God.

If you could be categorized as a 'nominal Christian', which we believe number in the millions, we refer you to the Lord's words:(Rev3: 15-16), and encourage you to immediately repent of your unbelief or whatever it is that holds you back from full fellowship with the Lord. May God have mercy on your soul.

I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

If, as we suspect, you fit into one of the above or something similar, then we pray that what follows will help reset your priorities, and renew your spiritual awareness; so that should your heart's desire be to accept God's offer of salvation to be truly saved, then by God's grace, we pray and trust it shall be so.

However, as we are addressing the post Rapture (PR) scenario it's necessary for us to point out the difference between the method God employs to redeem the saints after the Rapture takes place, as opposed to beforehand. This means that if you fall into (PR)categories 3 to 5 above, the process will prove far more problematic than will be the case if there is still time for you to be saved prior to the rapture taking place. This may sound confusing, but in our attempt to address the subject of bible prophesy pertaining to the Post Rapture period we must take into account that as you read this, the Rapture of the church may or may not have taken place. So because we have no way of knowing this as we write, we must account for both scenarios, so that by God's grace, it all makes sense to you either way, depending on the situation at this time.

The bible scriptures are very clear, and as we've already explained elsewhere, bible prophesy has proven so dependable, it can be relied upon to truthfully/faithfully guide you through what is prophesied to take place during the seven years following the rapture of the church, spoken of as the 'Tribulation Period'.

Although the scriptures are unclear as to whether the Tribulation period commences immediately or whether there is a gap after the Rapture, we cannot find evidence to support a major gap scenario.

Irrespective of where you stand spiritually, we can be certain that the information that follows will be devastating and traumatic, regardless of which category best describes your situation. But hopefully, it will be enough to awaken you to the perilous state that will confront you, should you choose to avoid the truth and continue to reject God's offer of salvation, whether the Rapture has taken place or not.

The 'Tribulation' refers to a specific time, that is unique in all of human history. It refers to the eschatological time of divine judgment, which takes place between the time of the rapture, and when the Lord Jesus Christ returns (publicly) to judge the nations, destroy His enemies, redeems the nation of Israel, and sets up His earthly millennial kingdom, after the great and terrible day of God; the Battle at Armageddon.

All the judgments described in Revelation during this time, [ie from the 6th seal through the trumpet and bowl judgments, (ref: Rev 6-19)]in terms of terror, have no parallel in human history, including the great flood of Noah's day, which if you think about it, should paint a picture of the enormity of the terror due to be confronted by unregenerate man, left behind after the rapture of the church.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's (The Jewish Remnant) sake those days will be shortened. (Matt 24: 14-22)

 Tribulation Saints

Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?" And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.

They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." (Rev 7: 13-17)

Now the method by which one can be saved Post Rapture is quite different from that which applies/d pre Rapture, for a number of reasons:-

Of primary concern for anyone left behind, is that the Holy spirit is removed from the earth with the Rapture of the church.

And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He (Holy Spirit) who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.(2 Thes 2:6-7)

Thus His convicting spirit is no longer available in a general sense to convict of sin, such as has been/was the case, from the time Christ ushered Him to His earthly ministry at Pentecost, until the rapture.

God has not made provision to rapture tribulation saints prior to death. However, the saints who die or are killed for their faith, will be resurrected to be with the Lord in heaven. For the whole of the Church age, some 2000 years, the faithful followers of Christ were sustained by the blessed hope expressed by the Lord himself, that at the end of the age, He would return to gather (rapture) them from upon the earth to be with Him for evermore, as His bride. It's important you undersand that anyone born again outside of the church age cannot be part of the Bride of Christ. They are certainly part of the Body of Christ. Now obviously if the Rapture is still yet future, time remains for you to seek salvation beforehand, but don't dilly dally. Time is of the essence.

"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (Jn 14:1-3)

Now if this hasn't happened yet, it's about to. But if it has, because the blessed hope of the Rapture no longer exists, the first thing you need to be aware of, so you can qualify for entry into God's kingdom, is to refuse themark of the beast (the Antichrist) which you will be required to submit to by the False Prophet of the new world order, in order to be able to buy and sell. In the event that you refuse because you choose Christ as savior, rather than be forced to worship the Antichrist, this will probably result in your death, possibly by beheading. Although not necessarily so, as it is possible, some may survive and be alive when the Lord returns. But to survive under these circumstances of course will require some private or group means of subsistence, as there won't be any kind of Government help, because you will be labelled as some kind of enemy of the state, thus unworthy of help, but rather death if you are caught.

Either way, the blessed hope you have in these circumstances, is that ultimately you will be with the Lord in His kingdom, for being strong and persevering to the end, even to the point of death. Thus you would join the great multitude of faithful witnesses, who throughout history have suffered the martyrs death for the sake of Christ, as their Lord and Savior.

This will sound gruesome, but, if you read on, or in the book of Revelation itself, what God's judgment of the earth will look like, I believe with all my heart, that such a death will seem like a welcome escape from God's wrath to be poured out on the earth, against all who reject God Almighty and His Son Jesus Christ, by receiving the “Mark”:

And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. (Rev 20:4)

Of course the smart thing to do, if you still have time, is don't wait. Accept Him as lord before the rapture.

ANTICHRIST - The Beast out of the sea ( Rev 13 : 1-10)

Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast (Antichrist) rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon (Satan) gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?" And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

If anyone has an ear, let him hear. He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

In the midst of the chaos and uncertain confusion that will abound during the tribulation period, it can be understood, that the peoples of the world will not only be angry and confused at the state of global affairs, but will be desperate for a strong leader to take control of the situation and bring about some stability and peace. So the 'man of sin' will find he is readily accepted when the time is right.

I am confident that the man destined to fulfill this evil leadership role, the Antichrist, is almost certainly alive on the earth as we write, given the lateness of the hour. A brilliant charismatic man, biding his time, awaiting his call into service, although he would be unaware of the role he is to play. This likelihood is based on evaluation of current events and End Time Bible prophecy. Already a mature man, the Antichrist is perhaps a politician and even an admired world leader; Or he could be a well respected business personality or a known international banker of great wealth and unobtrusive influence, or he might arise suddenly from total obscurity. Somewhere he is being meticulously groomed, until such time as he is ready for the role for which Satan is ultimately preparing him and will, one momentous day, totally possess his being. Through bible prophesy we learn that one passion rules this remarkable man: a lust for power. Even so, benevolence, prudence, integrity, and principle mark his circumspect public persona. It may be that at this point in his life he is still convinced that his motives are altogether pure and for appearances sake, altruistic.

We can gather from the following scripture text, that he isn't a religious man, but interestingly he could well be homosexual.

Then the king (Antichrist) shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined (by God) shall be done.

He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things. (Dan 11: 36-38)

Jesus warned that many would come claiming to be the Christ. These numerous lesser usurpers who were already in the world, as the Apostle John explained in 1 John:2:18, would prepare the way for the main Antichrist who would appear in the last of the "last days,"which, according to bible prophecy, we assess we are approaching right now.

The seven year tribulation period is split into 2 x 3 and one half year periods, the first of which is described as the “beginning of sorrows”, which although horrific enough, when compared to the second half of the Tribulation period, will be one of relative peace. Antichrist is a smooth operator, commending and endearing himself to the world, he will initially seem just the right man for the job, gaining great favor and world wide popular support as the global leader. He will actually be the first leader to negotiate a Middle East peace treaty with Israel, according to bible prophesy, at the beginning of the seven years. This will be the sign that the 7 years of tribulation has commenced.

But, halfway through the seven years, this man of doom, who for many has (falsely) established himself as Christ returned, will break the treaty and show his true colors, and from this time forward it will seem like every demon in hell has been released upon the earth.

MORE FROM 'THE REVELATION' (Re - The Tribulation)

The beginning of the end: The first four seals (Rev 6: 1-8)

We read In Revelation 5: 1-7, that Christ receives from God the Father, a scroll sealed with seven seals, and it is decreed that He is the only one worthy to open it. The scroll contains the title deed to the whole earth. Beginning in Chapter 6, the scroll is opened and it's seals broken, which marks the beginning of Gods' foretold wrath and judgment of a sinful world, as the Lord takes back creation from Lucifer, the usurper.

Each of the seven seals, represents a specific divine judgment, that will be poured out in sequence on the earth, and they encompass the whole Tribulation period, culminating with the very public return of Christ at the end, who is accompanied by His army of Saints, resplendent in their white robes.

Understand that the first four seals encompass the first half of the Tribulation, with the fifth seal bridging the period between the first and second half, and the sixth and seventh seals taking place during the second half, that period known as the “Great Tribulation”.

(Rev 6: 1-8)

Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see." And I looked, and behold, a white horse.
He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.
When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come and see."
Another horse, fiery red,
went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword. When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand.
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine."
When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see."
So I looked, and behold,
a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.

THE FIRST SEAL : A False Peace (Rev 6:1-2)

Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see." And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

Chapters 4 & 5 speak of the praise offered in heaven to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, extolling both as creator and redeemer respectively. But the tone changes in chapter 6 as the seals are opened, in anticipation of the coming judgment. Thus the scene moves from heaven to earth, which will remain the case right through until the return of Christ in chap. 19, and the establishment of His kingdom in chap. 20.

Some,  erroniously identify Christ as the rider of the white horse, but there are three main reasons this cannot be so.

  1. As Christ opens the sealed scroll it cannot be Him:

  2. Christ carries a sword not a bow: and

  3. The primary reason is that Christ returns at the end of the tribulation not the beginning.

You can't identify the Antichrist as the rider either. The main reason being that as the other three riders represent impersonal forces, (war, famine and death) and not individual entities, it is best to view the first horse likewise. So it would be best defined as worldwide peace, which is dealt with on the breaking of the second seal and the release of the second rider on the red horse.

So before the drama of the tribulation unfolds to it's fullest extent, the Antichrist will be seen to be responsible for a period of world peace, after negotiating a seven year peace treaty with Israel, thus bringing the dogs of war to heal in the middle east, which a world hungry for peace and security will readily welcome. But Satan, the master of deception and puppet master of the Antichrist, will ensure that the peace pact with Israel is broken. This false peace will come to an abrupt end at the mid point of the tribulation, when he desecrates the Temple in Jerusalem, betrays the Jews, and launches deadly attacks on them. (Matt 24: 4-10) The bible is very clear. There can be no peace on earth until the Prince of Peace comes again, to set up His earthy Kingdom. (Rev 20: 1-6) The deceptive prowess of the usurper will soon be recognizable once the peace is broken, but, it will too late for the world as this masterful schemer will by then have gained enough control over the World systems, so as to have complete control over the worldwide population.

THE SECOND SEAL : War (Rev 6: 3-4)

When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come and see."
Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.

From this point on, right up until the end, the euphoric mood of peace and harmony will be shattered as everything turns ugly as the second (red horse, depicting war) and it's rider appear on the scene. God's judgment starts to descend upon the earth, and the false peace ushered in by Antichrist collapses and descends into a bloody holocaust.

As he was prominent in promoting the false peace, the Antichrist will play a major role in the wars and mayhem which follow it. The wars that start with the opening of the second seal will last for the remainder of the tribulation period.

THE THIRD SEAL : Famine (Rev 6: 5-6)

When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine."

Famine is a logical result of widespread warfare, as food supplies are destroyed and the workers involved in it's production are killed off. Such was spoken of by Jesus Christ (Matt 24:7) “......and in various places there will be famine and earthquakes.” But this will be the most devastating famine in all of human history. The pair of scales the rider carries in his hand depicts the severe rationing that will result from the famine, so that food lines around the world will become common place, but sufficient supplies will not be maintained. The deceptive peace followed by worldwide conflicts and the resultant devastating worldwide famine will contribute to an escalation of universal chaos. All of this will occur during the first half of the tribulation period, but worse is to follow. You should be starting to get a clearer picture of the darkness which lay ahead for the peoples of the world, who are left behind to confront the Antichrist and his evil plans.

THE FOURTH SEAL : Death (Rev 6: 7-8)

When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see."
So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.

The horse's color, vividly portrays the pale green pallor of death, characteristic of a decomposing corpse. Quite fittingly the rider of the horse had the ominous name of Death. Death on a massive scale, is the inevitable consequence of widespread war and famine. In this macabre and terrifying scene, the apostle John sees Hades...following with Death. Hades (here representing the grave) becomes as it were the grave digger, burying the remains of Death's victims.

The extent of the death and destruction is then quantified: authority is given to Death and Hades to destroy a quarter of the population of the earth, which on current figures, and allowing for additional growth in the meantime and a margin of error would possibly amount to about 2.0 billion deaths.

In this age of WMD's such a staggering figure seems terrifyingly plausible.

These first four seals clearly point to frightening and awesome judgments without parallel in history, but the worst is yet future. Although nothing this devastating has ever happened, it can be fearful to note that these first four seal judgments are just the beginning of the horrific global woes of judgment that the sinful, rebellious world will experience. Far worse is to come with the last seals, the Trumpet and Bowl judgements.

At that time, the world of unrepentant sinners, will realize: “it is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Heb 10:31) There will be no escape for impenitent unbelievers from these terrors, or from the infinitely worse terrors of hell on offer Beyond Armageddon.

You would do well to heed Hebrews: (Heb 2: 3) “How will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation

The mark of the Beast” is a system of identification which the Antichrist will authorize the False Prophet to introduce in the second half of the tribulation, which He will employ to keep tabs on the world population, and introduce all kinds of restrictions and demands on them.

Restrictions which will force them to worship the beast and take his mark in order to buy and sell.

Then I saw another beast (False Prophet) coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast(Antichrist)who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Rev13: 11-18)

The exact significance of the number 666 will be known once the identity of the Antichrist is revealed.

The exclamation “here is wisdom”, is a warning to those alive at the time to exercise discernment, and in the light of this, it is noteworthy, that the number is that of a man. God's number is 7, man is 6, one lower.

As an exercise in discernment, let us consider a possible scenario: (All the letters of the Latin alphabet each have numerical value.)

The following table focuses on the office of the Roman Catholic Pope, and applies the Latin numerical values to the letters. Only time will tell, but for many generations believers have suspected that the pope, whoever it may be at the time of the tribulation, would be the Antichrist's false prophet. We can speculate all we like on the basis of the number of his name being 666 in value, but we cannot be certain until it happens.

WARNING; Unless you want to end up in Hell - Do not take the mark of the beast:-

If you retain any hope of spending your eternity at peace in the presence of God, you must refuse; I repeat, refuse the mark, if in fact the rapture has taken place and you are confronted with this choice. On the other hand, if the rapture is still yet future, then this may not be a concern for you, unless of course you choose to reject salvation while time still remains for you to accept God's gracious offer. Otherwise you will be forced to suffer the consequences during the tribulation, along with all your fellow unrepentant sinners, of which I'm sad to say will likely be in the billions.

THE NEW WORLD RELIGION (which is being formed as we write this - don't miss the video)

A false religion, on a scale never before seen on the earth is coming, controlled by the most notorious and evil of all false prophets. The ecumenical move by the pope of Rome, to unite the religions of the world, is diabolically false and deceptive, and straight from the Devil's handbook.  Because of the hopeless conditions prevailing on the earth at the time, most people will adopt the seemingly safe and prudent course; worshiping the Antichrist and taking his mark. But to do so will be a tragic error, with disastrous eternal consequences, because all who persist in worshiping the beast will face the wrath of God. The pressure to bow to the will of Antichrist, will be almost unbearable, like nothing ever experienced before. Life will seem virtually unlivable, and people will be forced to accede to the will of this demonized entity, not because of religious deception but primarily out of economic necessity, and is the main reason we have been promoting an urgency in this situation.

The following passage of scripture provides a most sobering account of your fate, should it's warning be ignored:

Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." (Rev 14 : 9-11)

The fate of the false prophet is one with the Beast(Antichrist). After they, between them, have been responsible for ushering millions on to the broad road leading to destruction, they will share an appalling and terrifying fate:-

And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. Then the beast (Antichrist) was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. (Rev 19:19-20)

It is not the intention that this sobering passage will result in fruitless speculation about it's detail. Rather it stands as a dire warning to the unbelieving world around us. It also represents a challenge to believers to lead circumspect lives before the Lord in the time that remains, and to faithfully proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, thus rescuing the souls of men & women where possible, from the disaster looming over the horizon.

You may not consider it necessary, but we believe it appropriate to remind you, that if you are not saved at this point, and the rapture hasn't taken place yet, then you can avoid all this trauma by simply accepting Jesus Christ as Lord. Repentance is easy once you can accept the fact that, like ourselves, you are a sinner in need of a savior and believe that Christ, as He claims, is your only hope. Praise His name.

THE FIFTH SEAL : The Tribulation Saints call on God for Vengeance
(Rev 6: 9-11)

When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.

So here we are at the halfway point or crossover between the two halves of the seven year tribulation.

Whilst God is portrayed in scripture as being full of Love, mercy and grace...a savior of sinners, it is also a truth which people choose to ignore and hide from, that He is a God of vengeance and wrath against those who reject Him and salvation in His Son. The prophets spoke of God's vengeance. Isaiah wrote: (34:1-3,8)

Come near, you nations, to hear; And heed, you people! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, The world and all things that come forth from it. For the indignation of the Lord is against all nations, And His fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to the slaughter. Also their slain shall be thrown out; Their stench shall rise from their corpses, And the mountains shall be melted with their blood. For it is the day of the Lord's vengeance, The year of recompense for the cause of Zion.

Speaking of God, Isaiah declared: “He put on righteousness like a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; and He put on garments of vengeance for clothing and wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle. According to their deeds, so He would repay: wrath to His adversaries, recompense to his enemies; to the coast lands He will make recompense.”

God's vengeance is not to be equated with petty human vindictiveness and hateful desire for revenge.

His justice, holiness and righteousness, demand that He take vengeance on unrepentant sinners, because ultimately all sin is against Him and is an offense to Him. It is the will of God, that none should perish.

The realization that the Day of the Lord is coming in which God's wrath will be poured out in vengeance on the wicked is bittersweet for believers. On the one hand, we rejoice because God's glory will be on display for all to behold; sin will be done away with, the world will be taken back from the control of Lucifer, the usurper, and God will finally be vindicated. However, on the other hand, that day will bring about the destruction of the ungodly, and their sentencing to eternal punishment and torment.

Many of these people facing such eternal damnation; family members, friends and workmates of believers, will be the same people who scorned attempts on their part to discuss the Gospel and address the issue of their eternal destiny. Thus the bittersweet characterization of how believers will feel at the time. If only they would have listened, salvation could have been the result for so many friends & Family.

But a primary focus of the fifth seal, is obviously the revealing of all the martyrs of Christ, slain during the time of the judgments. In addition to divine judgment throughout this period dominated by a false peace, war, famine and disease/pestilence in a unbelieving world, widespread persecution of believers will be a prominent feature of the Devil's desperate attack against God and His faithful believers on the part of his demons, and all of his evil cohort.

THE SIXTH SEAL : Fear of the wrath to come (Rev 6: 12-17)

I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"

A major prophetic theme throughout scripture is the coming of the end time wrath of God, known as the Great and terrible Day of the Lord, culminating with a battle known as the “Battle of Armageddon”. The Day of the Lord, is an expression which appears nineteen times in the OT, and four times in the NT, and is used to depict periods when God chooses to intervene in human history for judgment sake.

The prophets describe the Day of the Lord as “destruction from the Almighty” (Isa 13:6; Joel 1:15), a time of “fury and burning anger”, (Isa 13:9), a “time of Doom” (Ezek 30:3), “Great and very awesome”(Joel 2:11), and “darkness and not light” (Amos 5:18,20). These historical “Day of the Lord” judgments were usually preceded by some preliminary minor judgment activity, designed to act as warnings or sample previews of the more devastating judgment to come on the day appointed by God for it to happen.

This final Day of the Lord, will likewise have it's preliminary judgments as revealed in the first five seals, before it begins with the opening of this the sixth seal. Unlike the first five seals, each of which involved Angels & humans in one way or another (the four Horsemen and the saints under the alter) God acts alone in the sixth seal, which takes place beyond the midpoint of the tribulation, thus the world will have entered the final three and one half years of the Great Tribulation. God has often made His presence felt by shaking the earth, and such earthquakes have not only caused great destruction, but also resulted in great fear among the people of the regions affected. But nothing from the past can possibly compare to the wrath of God yet to be poured out in His final judgment of the nations.

The cataclysmic forces of earthquakes so powerful that the whole earth and the heavens will be shaken, combined with the sun turning black and the moon turning blood red, the stars of the sky fall to the earth, and the sky is to split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island will be moved out of their places, will cause fear to grip the hearts of the people like never before in history. Those who survive all this trauma, will have done so, not only on the back of surviving World war, devastating famine and widespread epidemics of deadly diseases, but tragically, they will likely have had to survive without the help of Gods' Holy Spirit. His removal from the earth, will result in Satan and Antichrist plunging the world into gross immorality, vice and all manner of evil demonic activities. It is frankly frightening to even think about it, let alone to contemplate surviving it.

The debilitating fear brought on by the devastation associated with the sixth seal, will affect all classes of society. The scripture quote from revelation, refers to: “The Kings of the earth”, “The great men”, “The commanders”, “The rich”, “The strong”, and “Every slave and free man”, and although the rampant fear of this time will not escape anyone, the prevailing reaction of the unbelieving world, will not be one of repentance but mindless panic and hatred of God, even though they've had nearly 4000yrs of warning.

But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts. (Rev 9: 20-21)

Specific fearful Warning for the unsaved:-

It is at this point that I must tender our most fearful warning to you, if in fact you are unsaved. You must understand that by now, not only has God's presence (not His influence) has been removed from upon the earth with the Rapture of the church, but also, His wrathful judgment will have commenced which indicates His patience has been totally exhausted. What this will mean for unbelievers is that they will likely follow and embrace Satan and his Antichrist, and this is where the fear of our warning should grip your soul, for God will appear to abandon you, but Chap.7 indicates that He can still show mercy whenever someone cries out to the Lord for help. However the scriptures reveal that those who have repeatedly chosen to harden their hearts toward Him, God intends to send them a deluding influence, so that they will believe what is false in order to fulfill the prophetic word: that all will be condemned who do not believe the truth, but take pleasure in unrighteousness.

And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.(2 Thess 2:11-12)

As hard as it is to believe, one gets the impression that God is understandably angry and not for turning at this point. The panic stricken non-believers will engage in irrational behavior, foolishly trying to hide themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, (from the swarms of meteors and asteroids bombarding the earth) the very places that God is shaking. As they frantically but futilely attempt to hide themselves in the earth, they will say to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” (Rev 6: 16-17)

Too late of course, those remaining alive at that time, will come to realize that all the disasters that have befallen them and the world, are the result of God's wrath, and it's this realization that renders them, out of stupid mindless pride, more willing to die, than to admit their guilt and face a holy God in repentance. Only to face the tortures of Hell which, although an outcome we can feel sad about, it's one the individual must take responsibility for themselves.

As horrifying and frightening as this picture is, it is not entirely without some hope. As we've explained earlier, the church will be delivered from this wrath of God (Rev 3:10), and multitudes of both Jews and gentiles alike, will be saved by His grace and protective arm, in the midst of God's divine judgment. But for the rest, the sobering words of the writer of Hebrews will apply:

For if we go on sinning willfully, after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries......It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Heb 10:26-27,31)

SURVIVORS OF GOD'S WRATH (Revelation 7 :1-8)

In Revelation 6 you were introduced to a time of unprecedented disaster, ongoing terror and the unimaginable slaughter in prospect for the world during the Tribulation. A time when Christ, the Lord takes back the earthly realm from Satan, symbolized by the unrolling of a seven sealed scroll. As He breaks open each seal, a fresh divine judgment is poured out on the earth. You've read that the judgment of the first five seals were severe. But the devastation and terror associated with the sixth seal (effectively the beginning of the great and terrible Day of the Lord) will far surpass that of the earlier seal judgments, and worse is to follow with the seventh seal which involve the intense 'trumpet' and 'bowl' judgments.

After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, "Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads."

And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed: of the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand were sealed. (Rev 7: 1-8)

Whenever God has moved in judgment of the affairs of mankind in the past, He has always preserved a way of escape for the righteous. Noah and his family in the Flood, lot and his daughters at Sodom, Rahab and her household at Jericho, and the nation of Israel when He destroyed Egypt.

Although the Great Tribulation will be an unparalleled time of judgment, horrific disaster and death, for many it will be a time of salvation. As we've already discussed, many believers won't die, but will survive to populate the millennial kingdom as portrayed by the Lord in His sheep and Goats prophesy.(Matt 25:31)

The goats (those who reject God) will be cast into hell and the sheep (the saved) will be invited into the kingdom, prepared for them before the foundation of the world. (Matt 25: 34) Believers who are alive at the second advent of the Lord, will live on in His earthly kingdom.

"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.

All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

In the passages contained in Rev 7:1-8 &12;16-17, we are introduced to a group of survivors, preserved by God in the midst of the horror that is the Great Tribulation, who will have been redeemed and set apart for special service, requiring special protection .

The scene now shifts from judgment of the ungodly, to special protection for the godly. Just as the most prominent false deity of the Tribulation, Antichrist, will seal his followers with a mark to control, deceive and destroy them. So likewise, the true and living God will seal His own in order to protect and save them. Revelation 14:1 identifies the mark left by God's seal as the names of Christ and the Father. Those with God's mark on them will be spared in the coming destruction of Jerusalem. Similarly, all these protected servants of God, will likewise be protected from and preserved through the judgments still future in the tribulation.

Urgently and with authority, the fifth angel cries out to the other four angels, to cease from harming anything on the earth, until all the bond servants of God have His mark sealed on their foreheads. These will be those who are redeemed during the Tribulation, and remained faithful to the Lord, and very likely powerfully and effectively preaching God's word midst the chaos of the Tribulation to this point.

Rev 14:1-5 describes their moral purity, undefiled character and their devotion to Jesus Christ. They are also described as having been purchased from among men, as first fruits to God and to the Lamb (Rev14:4)

144,000 JEWISH EVANGELISTS & a mighty harvest of souls

The world's hostility toward Jesus Christ and His followers, will in no way prevent the “gospel of the kingdom” from being preached throughout the world for a witness to all nations. (Matt 24: 14) The preachers spoken of will include 144,000 Jewish evangelists (Rev 7:1-8; 14:1-5), two powerful preachers referred to as the two witnesses (Rev11:3) and an Angel flying through the sky (Rev14:6-7). So effective will these witnesses be for the cause of the Kingdom, that those who do respond to them and are saved, are described as “a great multitude which no one could count” (Rev 7: 9)

The posed question answered here is who might the 144000 witnesses be?  Pastor Robert Breaker reveals what might be regarded as a mystery hitherto   remaining hidden until the time of the end. Don't miss this video.

The persecution of believers, although occurring right through the tribulation, intensifies dramatically during the second half, after Antichrist sets himself up as God in the temple. With the whole world worshiping him as God, believers will be seen as blasphemers who oppose him, and will attract the wrath of Antichrist's false world religious system. Rev 9:21 reveals that at this time, among many other evils, murder and theft will proliferate; many of the victims will no doubt be believers, martyred victims of mob violence.

Now whilst on the one hand, you can argue quite rightly, that all this is very gruesome and traumatic, on the other, as believers we can rejoice that although so many will be forced to suffer in the tribulation for not being faithful to God, and thus part of the Rapture; we can recognize that God is still gracious and merciful enough to provide a way for a “mighty harvest of people that could not be numbered”to be saved in the midst of such a horrific period. Notwithstanding that it could require them to be martyred for Christ's sake, for surely, the short term pain is more than worth it for the long term gain, in this case. It can be anticipated that while many gentiles will be saved during the Tribulation, a majority may well be Jewish.

In Matthew 13, we can read the words of the Lord Himself, as He prophesied the harvest to take place as we've described.

Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, "Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field." He answered and said to them: "He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear! (Matt 13: 36-43)

The world is not a place well known for it's humane, civilized, educated, or sophisticated behavior, such that atrocities of the past can be avoided in the future. In fact the atrocities prophesied to occur during the seven year tribulation, will be more devastating and catastrophic than anything the world has ever experienced in all it's history according to bible prophesy, thus providing final proof, should any have been necessary, of man's depraved capacity for inhumane behavior toward his fellow beings.

With God's supernatural restraint on sin removed from the earth, and the demonic forces of hell running rampant across the globe, the human slaughter of that time will be without precedent, ever.

But to the glory of God, out of those dark and evil days, will come a multitude without number who seal their testimony for the Word of God, and the lordship of Jesus Christ, by the shedding of their own blood.

…..and, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; (Rev 7:9a,c)

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." (Rev 7:13-17)

No one could doubt that Christianity continues to be well and truly under siege from all quarters in this day and age, although many of the factions involved, could only ever be characterized as false faiths or cults, when compared to the fundamental teachings of the bible.

However, in the face of this opposition, which the church has had to content with for centuries, the popular media, in true Antichrist fashion would have us believe that God is no longer relevant and that His church has lost any influence it may have once upon a time enjoyed. Which is largely true of course if one considers the "church" as only being made up of false religions and cults, which the global media has falsely promoted as being Christian, which the Born again church of Jesus Christ rejects.

It is a comfort to be able to rest in the word of God and His ultimate triumph as prophesied. When one stops to consider the redeeming power of God that will be on display at the height of the most fearsome period of global turmoil in the history of the world. As His wondrous grace and mercy are fully exposed as never before, to save such a great multitude of people, such that could not be counted, surely such a display of God's love and power should motivate Christians everywhere, to praise and honor Him as being worthy of all glory, for the greatness of His End times plan of redemption, in the midst of such trying times.

When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel's hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.

With the 6th seal we came to the opening chapter of the “Great and terrible day of God” (the second half of the Tribulation), the climactic time of Gods' judgment which ushers in not only the end of Satin's rule on the earth, but also that of man. Here with the 7th seal, God progresses with His plan to re establish His authority on the earth, in a final holocaust of wholesale destruction. As horrifying as the first five seal judgments are (False peace, war, famine, death and vengeance), they pale in comparison on the terror scale, to the sixth and seventh seals
So terrifying are these judgments, that the peoples of the world will come to understand that the resultant calamities can be the responsibility of no one other than God Himself. At this time they will cry out to the mountains and the rocks:

And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!
For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" (Rev 6:15-17)

This the final seal, contains the full sweep of the remaining divine judgments of the Great Tribulation including the trumpet and bowl judgments.

The progressive judgments of the seventh seal will take place over an unspecified period of time, except for the fifth trumpet, which is prophesied to last for five months. While the exact timetable is unspecified for the trumpet and bowl judgments, it is apparent that the seventh seal encompasses all of God's final outpouring of wrath of the great Tribulation, right up to the triumphant return of the Lord Jesus Christ in Glory.

Despite all the terrifying judgments, which all but the simple minded will acknowledge to be from God, and the global preaching campaign undertaken by the 144,000 plus others, to spread the gospel, people will still refuse to believe: (Rev 9:20-21)

But the sad truth is, that man prefers the darkness rather than the light: (John 3:19-20)
And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

If you who have an ear to hear, the glorious truth is, that in order to avoid the judgment, all you need do is believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, because he came to save the world not to judge it. (John 12:47)

And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.

When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.

Up to this point, I think it must be conceded that heaven was a fairly noisy place. What with thunderous voices of angels, all the singing around God's throne, multitudes of new born souls praising God, multitudes cying out to God for justice against the ungodly etc, so to all of a sudden, encounter complete silence, even for half an hour, must have seemed almost deafening to the apostle John.

The only logical conclusion it would seem is that the silence was like the calm before the storm. Could it not be the result an intense  foreboding expectation, of awe at what God was about to do, as the only appropriate response to such devine historic judement. In Zephaniah (1:7) we find him exhorting: "Be silent before the Lord God, for the day of the Lord is near"

What more could one expect given that it seems the whole of heaven is waiting expectantly for the greatest event since the fall of Adam to take place, which is to see sin and Satan vanquished, and Jesus Christ exalted as His kingdom arises.

And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.

The trumpet is the most significant musical instrument in scripture. Events in the Old Testiment such as Religeous ceremonies, the call to arms for battle, the call to congregation, religeous feasts etc to name a few. The trumpet in the New Testiment of course will be used to announce the Rapture and the second advent of Christ.

Each of the seven trumpets unleashes a specific judgement of greater intensity than the first six seals, but not as destructive as the seven bowls. The first four tumpets destroy the earth's ecology, and in the next two we see the destruction of humanity by demonic activity, and the seventh trumpet introduces the final outpouring of God's wrath involving the seven bowl judgements.

The first angel sounded:And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood.
And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water.
The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.
Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night.

And I looked, and I heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!"

It is a sad truth that many people, from the latter period of the 20th century, fell into the satanically inspired trap of the green movement. Mostly well intentioned poor souls who have been deceived into believing they could save the planet and all of it's endangered species of strange and wonderful creatures. This conspiracy, which was hidden from the masses in the early stages, by the elite (mostly Banking) conspirators, has of late been more openly disclosed and even debated in public, and I refer to the global warming bebate. These NWO elitists, have cunnningly produced a new green religion in which for many, protecting the environment, has become an issue of idolatry, wherein they worship the creation "Mother Nature" instead of the creator, Jesus Christ. Thus the Antichrist spirit is revealed. But another sad aspect of all this, is that all of the efforts of this new green religion to save and repair the earth will soon prove a total waste of time; for when, during the great Tribulation, God is pooring out His wrath against the nations of the earth, God Himself will destroy more of the earth, than man could ever prevent or repair.
Should you happen to be a greenie in support of a Green political party, can I suggest you check out the party's policy platform and it wouldn't surprise me to find that it involves far more than an environmental agenda. The green movement is a diabolical instrument of control dreamt up by the elites of the banking dynasties, to impliment their NWO agenda through the One World Government and the World parliament.
God wants you to come out from among them, or be destroyed along with them, and be prepared to receive through grace, by faith His free gift of salvation, puting your trust in the blood atonement of Jesus Christ who died for the sins of the whole world, that you might be saved from the pain of death and eternal damnation

Often down through the centuries at times of grievous trouble such as wars etc, man has described such conditions as being like hell on earth
, even though he had no way of knowing, first hand, what hell was really like. Well I hate to be the one to tell you, but that is about to change. The Apostle John's account in chapter 9 reveals just what hell on earth will really look like, and it is so horrendous, I don't feel qualified to comment. Besides which I believe the Lord wants me to simply quote the scripture, because after all it is His word, which can be relied upon more than anything I can offer:-

Then the fifth angel sounded: And I saw a star fallen from heaven to the earth. To him was given the key to the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit.
Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man.
In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.
The shape of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle. On their heads were crowns of something like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men.
They had hair like women's hair, and their teeth were like lions' teeth. And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many horses running into battle.
They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. Their power was to hurt men five months.
And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon. One woe is past. Behold, still two more woes are coming after these things.

Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates."
So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind.
Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them.
And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone.
By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed--by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths.
For their power is in their mouth and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents, having heads; and with them they do harm.
(Rev 9)
There is yet one more trumpet to be sounded, which will involve the seven bowl judgements, the last seven plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete. But between the sixth and seventh trumpet soundings there is an interlude, which gives us time to catch our breath somewhat, after what has just been revealed to us. Now if one is Born Again, this may all appear rather academic. What's the point of all this, I hear you ask, if we aren't even going to be here, having been removed in the Rapture; well, concerned you may not be, but selfish you certainly would be. What of the poor souls saved and remaining on the earth at this time, as hard as it may be to imagine anyone alive and saved in these circumstances, I am not prepared to count out the prospect. Surely God's comforting presense will be available to them as reasurance that he has not forgotten them, and that He remains in control.

I know it's a question which has perplexed my own generation, and I believe there is enough scriptural evidence to support a belief that down through the ages, God's people have always wondered why God has allowed evil to seemingly prosper, and remain unchecked. I draw on the following bible quotes for support: (Job 12:6; 21:7) (Jer 12:1-3) (Psa 10:1-5; 74:10-11; 83:1-2)

All the pain and suffering in this evil world has caused the Godly to yearn for God's intervention. As we have discussed elsewhere on this site, the day is at hand when we can expect Christ to break His silence on this and other matters, when He returns to earth to establish His millennial kingdom. A time of rejoicing for all of Gods' faithful, as atheists, agnostics and unbelievers generally, who scoffed and mocked any suggestion of Christ returning, will be silenced for good.

The history of sin with it's lies, corruption, wars & murders and so much more, including the persecution of God's people and their martyrdom, will be at an end, forever. The Devil (Satan) and his army of demonic hordes will be bound and cast into the abyss for a thousand years.

I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire.
He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices. Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them." The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.

Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, "Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth." So I went to the angel and said to him, "Give me the little book." And he said to me, "Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth." Then I took the little book out of the angel's hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter. And he said to me, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings."(Rev 10:1-11)

I have expressed it elsewhere, that prophecy can be difficult to comprehend sometimes, and I suspect this chapter 10 of Revelation could, for some, be such an example. Accordingly, in order to assist those of us having some difficulty understanding the mysteries accompanying the prophet's quill on this occasion, I invite our old friend, Matthew Henry , to illuminate the holy scriptures with his insights:
(Quote)The Angel of the covenant presents a little open book, which is followed with seven thunders. (1-4) At the end of the following prophecies, time should be no more. (5-7) A voice directs the apostle to eat the book; (8-10) and tells him he must prophesy further. (8-11)

Verses 1-7 The apostle saw another representation. The person communicating this discovery probably was our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, or it was to show his glory. He veils his glory, which is too great for mortal eyes to behold; and throws a veil upon his dispensations. A rainbow was upon his head; our Lord is always mindful of his covenant. His awful voice was echoed by seven thunders; solemn and terrible ways of discovering the mind of God. We know not the subjects of the seven thunders, nor the reasons for suppressing them. There are great events in history, perhaps relating to the Christian church, which are not noticed in open prophecy. The final salvation of the righteous, and the final success of true religion on earth, are engaged for by the unfailing word of the Lord. Though the time may not be yet, it cannot be far distant. Very soon, as to us, time will be no more; but if we are believers, a happy eternity will follow: we shall from heaven behold and rejoice in the triumphs of Christ, and his cause on earth.

Verses 8-11 Most men feel pleasure in looking into future events, and all good men like to receive a word from God. But when this book of prophecy was thoroughly digested by the apostle, the contents would be bitter; there were things so awful and terrible, such grievous persecutions of the people of God, such desolations in the earth, that the foresight and foreknowledge of them would be painful to his mind. Let us seek to be taught by Christ, and to obey his orders; daily meditating on his word, that it may nourish our souls; and then declaring it according to our several stations. The sweetness of such contemplations will often be mingled with bitterness, while we compare the Scriptures with the state of the world and the church, or even with that of our own hearts. (Unquote)

Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, "Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there.
But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months.
And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."
These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner.
These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.

When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them.
And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
Now after the three-and-a-half days the breat of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them.
And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them.
In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven.
The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly.(Rev 11-1-14)

Again I invite Matthew Henry to assist us with our comprehension:

Chapter 11 (1-13)

The state of the church is represented under the figure of a temple measured. (1,2) Two witnesses prophesy is sackcloth. (3-6) They are slain, after which they arise and ascend to heaven. (7-13)

Verses 1-2 This prophetical passage about measuring the temple seems to refer to Ezekiel's vision. The design of this measuring seems to be the preservation of the church in times of public danger; or for its trial, or for its reformation. The worshippers must be measured; whether they make God's glory their end, and his word their rule, in all their acts of worship. Those in the outer court, worship in a false manner, or with dissembling hearts, and will be found among his enemies. God will have a temple and an altar in the world, till the end of time. He looks strictly to his temple. The holy city, the visible church, is trodden under foot; is filled with idolaters, infidels, and hypocrites. But the desolations of the church are limited, and she shall be delivered out of all her troubles.

Verses 3-13 In the time of treading down, God kept his faithful witnesses to attest the truth of his word and worship, and the excellence of his ways, The number of these witnesses is small, yet enough. They prophesy in sackcloth. It shows their afflicted, persecuted state, and deep sorrow for the abominations against which they protested. They are supported during their great and hard work, till it is done. When they had prophesied in sackcloth the greatest part of 1260 days, antichrist, the great instrument of the devil, would war against them, with force and violence for a time. Determined rebels against the light rejoice, as on some happy event, when they can silence, drive to a distance, or destroy the faithful servants of Christ, whose doctrine and conduct torment them. It does not appear that the term is yet expired, and the witnesses are not a present exposed to endure such terrible outward sufferings as in former times; but such things may again happen, and there is abundant cause to prophesy in sackcloth, on account of the state of religion. The depressed state of real Christianity may relate only to the western church. The Spirit of life from God, quickens dead souls, and shall quicken the dead bodies of his people, and his dying interest in the world. The revival of God's work and witnesses, will strike terror into the souls of his enemies. Where there is guilt, there is fear; and a persecuting spirit, though cruel, is a cowardly spirit. It will be no small part of the punishment of persecutors, both in this world, and at the great day, that they see the faithful servants of God honoured and advanced. The Lord's witnesses must not be weary of suffering and service, nor hastily grasp at the reward; but must stay till their Master calls them. The consequence of their being thus exalted was a mighty shock and convulsion in the antichristian empire. Events alone can show the meaning of this. But whenever God's work and witnesses revive, the devil's work and witnesses fall before him. And that the slaying of the witnesses is future, appears to be probable.

Speculation as to the identity of these two witnesses, has continued without finality down through the years, but I believe a majority consensus today, points to their likely identity as being Moses and Elijah, which I happen to agree with, for a number of reasons, which I don't intend to go into at this time. Mainly because I don't think it is all important as an issue. Whether or not this speculation turns out to be accurate or not, the fact is that the two men chosen by God to fulfill the task, will have similar miraculous powers to the two Old Testament figures; which they are going to need in order to have an impact; firstly on the Jews, who always need signs to move them, and second, to capture the attention of the whole world during the horrific events of the Great Tribulation. In addition, these supernatural powers will no doubt aid their self preservation, for like Moses in the OT, they will have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague imaginable, as often as they choose. When such power is manifested across the world, these two preachers will not only be feared, but will naturally draw the ire and hatred of people, to the point that many will seek ways to destroy them. But to no avail, at least until their ministry is at an end and God's purposes have been achieved, at which time, Antichrist (the beast which comes up from the abyss) will make war with them and kill them. The scripture reveals that because of the universal hatred of the two servants of God, there is much rejoicing and celebration around the globe at the news of their death, and demand that their bodies not be removed from the exposed spot where they were slain. But after three and a half days, God interviens to bring the party to a halt, by breathing life back into His two witnesses and takes them home to be withHim.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            I honestly think that of all of God's miracle working powers, there is none so powerful and startling, even though none of us have actually witnessed it, as the power to resurrect the dead. The bible reports that the moment they stand up on their feet, fully alive, having been seen by millions across the world media networks, to be rotting in the streets of Jerusalem for 3plus days, it will be as though the world has stopped suddenly.  Great fear grips the souls of all who witness the resurrection and the ascension of the two witnesses, as they are taken up in a cloud. Our God is an awesome God.

The great earthquake which punctuates these events, claims the lives of seven thousand people, many of whom it is postured, will likely be members of Antichrist's administration.

This passage of scripture ends with the sobering warning that: the second woe is past; behold the third woe is coming quickly. The seventh trumpet ( the third woe) will soon sound, bringing with it the final violent bowl judgments, and the glorious return of Jesus Christ at last, to set up His millennial kingdom.

Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!" And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: "We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.

The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth."

Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunder, an earthquake, and great hail. (Rev 11:15-19)

This sounding of the final trumpet is significant as it preludes the final events leading up to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to, among other things, establish His millennial kingdom on earth.

The seventh trumpet represents the consummation of God's redemptive plan for the universe as we know it. The fulfillment of this, according to bible prophecy will include God's fury & wrath poured out in judgment on the Great and terrible day of God (11:18; 16:1-21)together with the defeat by Christ of the forces of the kings of the earth and the climactic victory at Armageddon.

The victory theme of Christ, in His quest to wrest the earth and all creation from the clutches of the usurper, Satan, carries throughout chapters 12 to 22.

(Rev 12; 1-6)

Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.

And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth.
And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.
Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

Before we touch on the first of seven great signs revealed to the Apostle John in the second half of Revelation, I want to make particular reference to the historical impact of Lucifer (Satan) on God's plans for mankind. From the time he fell from heaven: and Jesus said to them : “I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning” (Luke 10:18), when he forfeited his place as the highest created being, he effectively positioned himself as the supreme enemy of God Almighty, and at the same time touched off a universal comic war: dwarfing any other war in human history, both in terms of intent and ferocity, and duration. For no war in human terms, has lasted anything like the 6000 years which has been the result of Satan's war against God for the souls of men, and it continues today until he is dispatched to hell together with his evil cohort according to the scriptures, at Armageddon.
Satan's first frontal attack against God, was his unsuccessful attempt to destroy the heavenly paradise. However his second attack proved more successful, when he
set out to destroy God's earthly paradise by introducing sin into the equation by deceiving Adam and Eve. Employing his lying tactics, he convinced Adam and Eve to rebel against God and disobey His instruction to not eat of the tree of life in the centre of the garden. When Adam and Eve corrupted their relationship with God at this point, the whole of humanity became embroiled in the cosmic conflict of the ages, but since the fall, this cosmic war has mostly been waged on the earth.

I would like at this stage to point out, that although they are all fallen souls, every member of the human race faces the same choice as the angels did way back when, as to whether they should follow Christ or Satan, because remaining neutral is not an option in this instance. In Matthew 12:30 Jesus declares: “He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me, Scatters” Sitting on the fence will only draw splinters not salvation.

As expressed elsewhere Satan's war with God will climax during the second half of the Tribulation period, a time referred to by Jesus Christ as the Great Tribulation, and it's at this time, that Satan, with the aid of great hordes of demons set loose on the earth at the time (Rev 9:1-11) will unleash a furious attack against God and His people, encouraged also of course, by the fact that the church is no longer on the earth. However, the Lord Jesus Christ will easily crush him and his forces of evil, and promptly dispatched he and the false prophet (Rev 19:11-21) to the bottomless pit, for the duration of the millennial kingdom (Rev 20:1-2).

For a short season at the end of the Millennium, God releases Satan to go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth, and to gather them together to do battle against the saints and the beloved city (Jerusalem). And God sent forth fire out of heaven and devoured them, but Satan had fought his last battle as he is cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, and will be tormented day and night forever and ever. The sounding of the seventh trumptet is recorded in chapter 11, but we don't find out about the effects until chapters 15-18. This sounding takes place toward the end of the Great Tribualtion, and launches the final devastating bowl judgments just before the return of Christ in power and glory to the battle at Aramgeddon. Featured in the Tribulation will be the unprecedented judgments of God's wrath, and the furious desperation displayed by Satan to thwart His plans, which deadly combination, will render the Tribulation the most devastating period in all of human history. The horrific events destined to be played out in this period will occur as a result of God's judgment and Satan's fury, but before launching into a description of this final conflict, it's appropriate to consider who is involved, as the main players in this historical battle: the woman (Israel), the dragon (Satan) and the male child (Jesus Christ).

The Woman

Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.  (Rev 12:1-2)

The normal application of symbolic language, is acceptable when applied to a literal approach to interpretation of scripture, meaning it points to a literal reality, which in this case shows that the woman described by John, was not an actual woman.
The symbolism employed here by John the apostle, points very clearly to the woman as being none other than Israel. There is much evidence of Israel being symbolically referred to as a woman in the old Testament, so this is nothing new. (Jer 3:1, 20; Exek 1:32-35; Hos 2:2). There is much to be discovered among these texts, but I am happy to leave you to search it out for yourself. As further evidence, it should be noted that Israel is described as being clothed with the sun, which can be seen as symbolically reflecting her unique glory, brilliance and dignity, due primarily to her exalted status: as Gods' chosen nation.

For you are a holy people to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. (Deut 7:6; 14:2)
Just like a pregnant woman in labor feels pain, so the nation of Israel was in pain, waiting for her messiah to come, but much of her pain was due to satan's persecution in his attempt to destroy the mother, before the birth. Just as the nation of Israel was in pain the first time Messiah came, so shall it be when He comes again. From the time Satan first learned of his fate at the hand of a redeemer, he has attacked Israel, and for centuries, Israel agonized and suferred, longing for the promised one whomwas destined to destroy the works of the evil one, and establish the  promised kingdom. No nation on earth has suffered as severely nor as long as israel has, both at the chastening hand of God and from Satan's deliberate efforts to destroy the nation who would birth the messiah. Next we are introduced to the cause of the agaonizing labor pains, suffered by the woman:
The Dragon
And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. (Rev 12:3-4)
The biblical symbolism here reveals the woman's (Israel's) mortal enemy, Satan, is depicted as a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems. He is depicted as a seven headed monster who rules the world. You need to understand that God has allowed Satan to rule on the earth since the fall of Adam, and will continue in this role until seventh trumpet sounds (11:15). The seven crowned heads (diadema; royal crowns, symbolizing power and authority ), represent the seven consecutive global empires, over which Satan has had dominion down through history: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, and Antichrist's future empire which will consist of a ten nation confederation under his control.(17:9-10) The shifting of the diadems from the dragon's heads to the beasts horns (13:1) reveals the shift in power from the old world empires to the ten kings of the Antichrist's final confederation.
The colourful biblical language continues, as the dragon's tail swept away a third of the stars in heaven and threw them to the earth. As they are depicted elsewhere in the scriptures (9:1; Job 38:7), the mention of the stars of heaven is referring to angels.
As the Apostle's vision continues to unfold, John notes; that the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. Satan has throughout history, reserved his special hatred for Israel as evidenced by the ongoing persecution of God's people, and having failed in his attempts to wipe them out and the messianic line, he further failed in his attempt to murder the Messiah Himself, before he could complete the work of salvation for which He had come. (Matt 2:13,16; Luk 4:28-30)
She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.
Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days. (Rev 12:5-6)
Notwithstanding Satan's relentless efforts to prevent it, the woman produced a Son, Jesus Christ, born of the flesh into the line of David, which was the fulfillment of yet more prophecy (Gen 3:15; Isa 7:14; 9:6; Mic 5:2)
The Messiah came out of Israel and as revealed by the scriptures Jesus was of Jewish lineage, was a son of Abraham (Matt 1:1) of the tribe of Judah (Gen 49:10; Mic 5:2; Rev 5:5) and a descendant of David (2 Sam 7: 12-16)
