IT'S IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT SALVATION REQUIRES GODLY SORROW LEADING TO REPENTANCE

Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing.
For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. (2 Cor 7: 9-10)

Jesus Christ offers Himself, a very present help in time of need to all who seek Him.

At this point I want to dispell any possible confusion you may have over what I can only describe as the order of the salvation process. It's possible you've come across teaching that promotes the belief that salvation (ie being born again) follows repentance. In other words in order to be saved, one must first repent of sin. Then there are those who teach that the reverse is the true path, that once a person has heard and believes the gospel, and accepts Jesus as Lord, then at that point, they can be be considered saved (born again), and once this has happened, it is the Holy Spirit working on the inside that produces the brokeness required for genuine repentance to occur.
Now whilst I might favor the later teaching, as it best describes my own experience somewhat, I would councel you not to get too hung up on either particularly, as in the end all that matters is that God's gift is received by faith which results in a (genuine) repentant heart. I cannot see there is a right way or a wrong way. So long as it's God's way, it will work out anyway.

Authentic biblical salvation is a exciting conversion experience that will change your life (2 Cor. 5:17) in such a way that you'll wish you hadn't waited so long as it has the capacity to alter your perception and judgment of man and creation, morality, and the very purpose of your being. The most amazing aspect of the new birth, when it happens, can be the realization of just how influential Satan has been in shaping your whole life. Things that have happened in your past which you couldn't fathom, will suddenly make sense, especially those times when God has been involved, which at the time you didn't recognize; eg I personally was made aware of at least three occasions earlier in my life when I should have died in varying accidental situations. It was amazing to have God show me that I wasn't just lucky as I had assumed; that way before I was even aware of God's existance, he was invovled in my life to protect me from danger, and the devil's attempts to take my life prematurely. Thanks I suspect to a praying Mother & Grandmother. What an awesome loving God we serve, and if I am not mistaken, you will be able to likewise relate to similar circumstances in your own life.

What it means to be Born Again:

To fully understand what all this means for you, please take the time now, or later if you need to go and return, and allow Missionery/Evangelist Robert Breaker to expound for you, the biblical principle of being Born Again.

Soul conversion results in a profound alteration of an individual's concept of the nature of God, man, sin, and brings a transformation in both thought and action; the rebirth is a return to God, a restoration of the relationship God originally intended to have with you, through a turning away from sin (i.e. rebellion against God's commands) commiting your life back into the care of a merciful forgiving Father God full of grace and everlasting kindness.

It is likely you have progressed to this point, not only because you've been willing seek help, but most important you have also taken the time to seek out the truth of the gospel of Christ, which has allowed Him time to speak to your heart and, hopefully convince you of your need of a Savior, which is a necessary first step to the regeneration God is offering.

The scriptures speak of the opportunity for you to repent and to respond to the Lord's knocking on the door of your heart, and allow Him to meet with you on the inside. .

“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and dine with him, and he with Me. (Rev 3: 19-20)

There is every chance you are experiencing the 'Joy of the Lord' about now, experienced by the great multitudes of believers who have gone before you, ourselves included. Who, having been set free by the truth of the gospel and the power of God's love, and our hearts bursting with joy, invited the Lord Jesus Christ in, and entered into His family of believers. But the real excitement came with the realization that the weight of sin was lifted from us & the promise of eternal rest in His presence was real. The joy and excitement of the moment we were set free from the bondage that had gripped our lives, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, is forever etched in our memory. Trust me there is no joy to compare with the joy of true salvation, and the knowledge that regardless of your past, your born again status is sealed by the Holy Spirit, forever,  praise His Holy Name.

“Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents”
(Luk 15: 10)

We are not only excited for you and what your future holds. Having been where you are, we understand some of your probable emotions right about now, but fear not, for the Spirit of God is with you.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Tim:1-7)

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8: 36)
Understand the Lord cares not where you have come from, or how unworthy you may feel right now.
Because of His love for you and His desire to heal you, He is just pleased you have come seeking Him.

….for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Rom 3: 23)

The bible is full of examples of men, who, having sinned grievously, and repented, found great favor with God and been blessed to live in abundant righteousness and bring great glory to God as a result.

A prime example of this is King David. It would be an encouragement for you to read his story.

As a youthful shepherd to his Father, David went before the army of Israel and slew the giant Goliath
(I Sam 17: 40-49)
David rose to be crowned King in Judah (2 Sam 2 1-7) King David commits sin of adultery (2 Sam 11: 1-5)
King David commits murder (2 Sam 11: 6-27)
Because of his sins King David experiences great trouble in his household and his kingdom and ultimately loses his crown as King. Later, David, realizing the depth of his sin, goes before God seeking forgiveness and repents. As a result God forgives David and restores him to his throne as King. (2 Sam 12:1-13:36, 19:1-20:26)
This true historical bible account of regeneration, reveals what God can achieve through a sincere, repentant heart, a task He is ever willing to perform for the genuine seeker.

King David was beloved of God and reputed to be the apple of God's eye. The favor he found in God's sight is in evidence when one considers the Godly anointing which must have been present in his life to have contributed so much to the book of psalms.
There are 150 psalms in the book, half of which have been attributed to David.
We don't know what God has in store for you, but we know you are just as precious to Him as David is.

There is no partiality with God.

Now please pay attention to what I have to say here;
It is very likely, although not necessarily so, that if you have followed our teaching up to this point, that you are already saved, but only you and the Lord will know it. It would be impossible for you to be 'Born Again' and not know it. Trust me: if you don't feel the joy of the Lord, and there is no witness that God's spirit is now living within you, and the weight of sin has been removed from your soul, then I would be confident in saying you are not born again, yet. But, however, if you can testify that all this is in fact your experience as a result of your believing in the gospel, then praise be to God, it seems the angels have reason to rejoice over another soul saved.
Now it is just as likely, that the opposite has been your experience thus far, but don't let this concern you, if in fact you are keenly seeking after Gods' free gift of salvation by His grace, through faith in the shed blood of the Savior.

By God's grace you may even be blessed to be in the company of a Christian who is a friend at this time, to bear witness to your commitment and share in your joy. If in fact you can bear witness to being saved, there really isn't any more for you to do at this point. However if you feel as Pamela and I did, that you would like to verbalize by way of prayer, your heartfelt thanks and commitment to the Savior, it is totally acceptable, and we trust you will find the following suggestions helpfull.

God looks on the heart, and as God is looking for those who would honor Him in spirit and truth, you may feel more comfortable or genuine if you can choose your own words for your prayer of commitment to the Lord.. There is no hard and fast rules, so long as your prayer is heartfelt and genuine, God will honor it.

Consider the words of comfort and direction offered by David: (Psa 145:18-20)

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.
The Lord preserves all who love Him, But all the wicked He will destroy.

As you are taking this step into your new life and the loving arms of the Savior who has awaited this moment from beyond the moment you were delivered from your mother's womb, we believe that the Lord, along with His company of Angels right now is rejoicing; that another soul has been saved.  Have no doubt He knows you already, as He has guided you this far and wants to take you all the way, to be with Him always. This day God purposed to meet with you to adopt you into His family.

Suggested prayer of commitment to God

I come Lord Jesus, believing you are God and knowing I am a sinner, to surrender my life to you and commit to your Lordship.
I choose to turn away from my sin life and invite you into my heart; to change me, to heal my soul, and to grant me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, full revelation of your love and grace, and to lead me on the right path for my life, according to your will.
I know Lord Jesus you died and shed your blood on the cross for the remission of my sins, and that you rose again from the dead and ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of your Father, God almighty, where you remain to this day.
I give thanks and praise for who You are, and everything you have done for me. Please lead me in the way I should go and protect me from the evil one. Amen.

If you have just prayed this prayer or something similar, and you really meant it, you should be able to sense the witness of the Holy spirit deep on the inside of your being.

Congratulations!! But only God knows the truth as to whether you are born again, how genuine your commitment is;

I suspect that by now, depending how genuine you are, you can consider yourself born again according to the scriptures, and have been adopted into the family of God and together with your brothers and sisters, are a joint heir with Christ, in His eternal kingdom. However, please take special note of the assurance of your salvation, because this is just the beginning.

….that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (Tit 3: 7)
Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? (Jam 2: 5)

ASSURANCE OF SALVATION -- Sealed by the Spirit

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. (Eph 1:13-15)

In line with God's approach of first the “natural” then the “spiritual”, let me recommend that you integrate a natural technique of successful people into your walk with the Lord, and I refer specifically to habitual behavior.

It will be a great help in establishing your relationship with God if you build certain habits into your daily life, to not only better please Him, but to build and establish a confident relationship with Him. This may seem onerous at first, but once the habit is formed it becomes second nature, especially when you become aware of God's Holy Spirit guiding you.

To strengthen your walk with the Lord, you need to exercise and cultivate the new spiritual life God has given you. You can do this:

  • by learning about your new found Christian faith from the Bible ( eg Romans, Ephesians 1 & 2, 1 John 5:13),
  • by submitting to the Lord's command to be water baptized. This is not urgent, but the sooner you do it the better. This is symbolic of cleansing oneself of the old life. Speak to the Pastor or leader of your new fellowship to arrange this for you. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-38; 1 Corinthians 1:16),
  • by publicly confessing your salvation in Jesus Christ before other people (Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9), Go and tell your family & friends what you have just done.
  • by fellowship with God through prayer (Philippians 4:6; 1 John 5:14-15),
  • by attending and being involved in a Bible believing church fellowship (Hebrews 10:23-27),
  • by living obediently to God in the power of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25), and
  • by resisting all temptation, evil intent and the Devil, who only comes but to steal, kill and destroy that which you have achieved.

A SPECIAL ALERT FOR YOUR PROTECTION
From this time forward, if you fail to have an interest in these matters of faith, you can place your salvation at risk, so you need take heed of what the following texts of scripture reveal to you:
The thief (Devil) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
Specifically, what this warning means is that new born babes are most vulnerable to attack, and that is what you can expect from our adversary, the Devil, who will try and steal your hope of salvation through various lying schemes of his, designed to destroy you spiritually and thus destroy everything God has offered you for Life eternal in His care. But the Devil cannot prevail if you heed our advice. Forewarned is forearmed.( eg you may hear his voice saying to you; "Your not realy saved; how do you know you're saved?etc)

Recommended reading: Matt. 13: 1-23 “Parable of the soils”
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:10-11).

But this is just the beginning. You will spend the rest of your life growing in your walk with God, and trust us when we say, the Devil won't be happy to have lost you, so it is important you find yourself a good family fellowship and God's people will always be there to help you along the way. Always remember, God is soveriegn: so if He be for you who can be against you.

We could offer no better prayer for you at this time than the words of the Apostle Paul to the Ephesians:

….that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, (all born again Christians) and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. (Eph 1: 17-23)

Please use the contact tab (above) to tell us the good news or ask any questions

We would love to hear from you and offer assistance should you feel the need, but most important, we would love the opportunity to share your joy & to pray with you. So please, make sure you fill out the form completely and accurately.
If for some reason you are unable to do this, that is fine. But there are some basics which need your attention asap:

  • If you don't have one, purchase a New King James version (NKJV) of the bible. (We believe the King James version is the most accurate translation from the original text, but for some new Christians the old English text is off-putting, so we recommend the NKJV as a suitable alternative).
  • If you need help to purchase a Bible, ask us and we will try to help you where we can.
Start your studies by reading in order: Gospels of John, Matthew & Luke, Ephesians Genesis (chapters 1-6), Acts and Romans. In the front of your bible, you should have a bible study schedule, which you can follow to work your way through it.
  • Develop the daily habit of spending some time in a quiet place, sharing your heart with God as you meditate on God's word (the scriptures) and ask for His help (Phil 4: 6-9) You will be amazed just how near the Lord is to you, to honor His commitment to help you.
  • Find yourself a good 'Full Gospel' bible believing church fellowship near you, and introduce yourself to the Pastor as a new Christian in need of guidance and fellowship, and we can assure you he will welcome you with open arms and make you feel at home. If we can help you in this, please let us know. If this doesn't work out for you please contact us to discuss some alternatives.

As a new Christian, you need solid grounding in God's word to establish you in your walk with God, and keep you safe. This is important and cannot be over emphasized, as all the good that you and God have achieved together could be undone if that grounding is missing. For this reason it is so essential that you be settled in the right Christian environment, and is the reason we prefer to have personal contact with you. But in lieu of this, we pray this guide will assist you.

Once again Congratulations. We will pray daily that God's grace and His richest blessing will be poured out for you as you begin your new life, and grow in the knowledge of God & all He has for you.

Tell someone that you have just committed your life to Jesus Christ and how being born again makes you feel. This may seem strange, but you will find  this confession really liberating, and will become second nature, especially when your enthusiasm for the Lord starts to infect others around you. I can remember how exhilerating it was to discover a stranger I approached turned out to be a born again Christian. You will be amazed how God can guide you in these circumstances, and remember, you are now the beneficiery of His promise to "never leave us nor foresake us"

Finally, let the words of the Apostle Paul encourage you:-

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 8: 31-39)

Once again, please tell us of your experience. We are so excited for you and would love to hear from you, so we can support you in prayer; and share with you the joy of your salvation. We look forward to hearing your good news.

May God's blessing be upon you and all whom you cherish and love, that all, may come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, being perfected to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Amen.
